It’s 10:16pm in Vancouver, on this last day of 2008… I am wrapped up in a blanket on the couch cuddling with the newest member of the Harrison household. Now before you get all excited- it is NOT: a cat, a baby, a dog, an iguana, or anything vaguely like those aforementioned critters. No fur or scales… It is a MacBook! Her name is Trudy, and she was my wonderful aluminum encased Christmas surprise from the tremendously lovable, hubby D-man.

Aren’t we cute together? Definitely meant to be…

So back to the part about being curled up on the couch. Trudy is keeping me company (and thanks to wireless and WebMD) and in good spirits as I deal with a not so fun kidney infection (that’s pyelonephritis to all you Latin buffs).

I raise my glass (of cranberry juice) and wish you and this entire blessed planet the best for 2009. Great change is in the air, and we are all a part of it. Have faith, have joy, and don’t forget to take care of your kidneys!
