Rainy Vancouver…
It has been an interesting week here in the D & D household. We’ve been trying to adjust to life without Pink. Coming home to an empty house seems to be the hardest moment for me. A black sweater on the bed that in the evening light looks like… oh, it’s just a sweater. And it’s strange how my eyes “see” Pink all over the house. After so many years of her presence, it is a difficult adjustment. We say several times daily to one another “I miss Pink”. I think it just takes time.I wanted to post some links to some of the places I’ve been hanging out on the Web lately. Since I haven’t been posting much, I thought I’d let you know where I spend my time when I am online.
Ted: “TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds.” A place to spend some time learning. They just reformatted the site, so I’m trying to find my way around …
Apartment Therapy: Great ideas for small spaces. Perfect for trying to make our 550 sq. feet feel more cozy.
Ediets: Making health and nutrition easy! I started on ediets years ago, and lost almost 50lbs through smart eating and some moderate exercise. I’ve got my final 30+ to go, and I’ve joined back up to help keep things straight forward. I’m using the Glycemic Index eating program- Duane asked me how I like it- well, I am eating about every 3 hours, small meals, in a Zone style breakdown (30%fat,30%protein,40%carbo), and am feeling really good. I feel really aware when it’s about time to eat- my blood sugar levels are very tuned in right now. And it seems like I’m eating all the time- which is perfect for a nibbler like me. Very simple cooking, Dustin is liking it, and I’m loosing weight. All good! The nice part to me is that this really is eating for life kind of dieting. It’s not crash, it’s not fad, it’s the best foods in the best combinations. So far, so good, Duane.
Alicia, I admire and adore and check in almost daily.
3191: inspired by the visual world? This is a place to be quietly awed daily. sigh….
